Chris Jhu
Senior Pastor, Teaching Elder
Chris Jhu grew up in southern California's Orange County, spending his summers as a youth working in his mother's dry cleaning store and on the beach. He came to faith in his teenage years, and discerned a call to ministry in his senior year of High School. Only by the patient grace of God has Chris continued to grow in knowledge, obedience, and giftedness. From 2000-2011, Chris has been involved in leading youth ministry in one form or another. He graduated from Talbot Theological Seminary in 2011 with an M.Div., after which he moved to Buffalo with his family to serve as English Ministry pastor of New Hope Presbyterian Church. In 2016 Chris was ordained as a Teaching Elder in the Presbyterian Church in America. He is married to Ji Hye, and has two children, Collin and Audrey. He loves to preach and teach God's word. He's an unashamed nerd, who enjoys miniature wargaming, reading, and games of all kinds.
David “Dongu” Lee

David “Dongu” was born in Korea but immigrated to the US when he was 10 years old. He is married to Esther and they have a beautiful daughter, Katelyn. Dongu works for BMW and he loves to talk and hang out with people over a cup of coffee. He is passionate about his family and loves to play golf as much as he can in all seasons. His hospitality is evident at all times. Dongu also loves to eat. Once he ate a whole pizza pie, 2 liters of coke, and a sleeve of cookies when he was in 7th grade.
Jonathan Vajda
Ruling Elder
Jonathan and his wife Sarah joined CCB in 2017. Jonathan has a passion for God's word and serving those less fortunate. Growing up in metro Detroit and later rural central Michigan, Jonathan led college ministry in his hometown Baptist church and was inspired to get theological training (MAR) at Westminster Theological Seminary. He came to Buffalo for a PhD in Philosophy at UB. Married in 2013, Jonathan and Sarah have two children, Faith and Lucas. He loves to kayak on Tonawanda Creek. He is always happy to grab a mocha latte and talk about life's big questions. His favorite verse is Romans 9:16.
Jonathan Choi

Jonathan Choi is a proud Christian who firmly believes that the solution to the world's problems lies in the Gospel of Christ. He is convinced that instilling the hope of the Gospel in children is one of his life's most important missions at this time. In his personal life, Jonathan cherishes spending time with his wife, Esther, and their son, Josiah. Professionally, he is a criminal defense attorney who advocates for the underprivileged. Additionally, he is pursuing his M.Div. at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary to deepen his understanding of God.
Daniel “Danny” Shin

Daniel was born and raised in NYC and came to Buffalo for school in 2010. Once he graduated, Chris prayed for him to stay in Buffalo and God opened doors. Now he is a chiropractor, has an awesome wife, Sol Kim, and adorable child, Micah. Daniel has too many hobbies ranging from playing games, sports, fantasy football (Go Bills!) and dabbling in music. He loves to lead praise and has been once described to be a “Pokémon trainer for all instrumentalists” and will look to fill the Sunday worship band.
Noah Kim
Deacon
Noah Kim was born in Maryland but grew up as missionary kid in the Philippines. He met his wife Ginny in South Korea where he did his first masters. From there Noah found a calling and desire to get into academic philosophy and so he attended and graduated from Talbot Theological Seminary where he got his Master’s in Philosophy. He now lives in Buffalo with Ginny and their dog Bernstein as a full time PhD Philosophy student at the University at Buffalo where he specializes in political philosophy. He loves researching and talking about the relationship between religion and the political sphere. He also loves talking about everything and anything else including, computer hardware, the NBA (and his terrible team the Washington Wizards), college football, and browsing reddit.
Barney Gan
Deacon
Barney is originally from Queens, NY, arriving in Buffalo in 2014 to attend pharmacy school at SUNY UB. He began his spiritual journey in high school when he joined his school’s Christian Seekers Club. During his college years at NYU, Barney invited Jesus into his life while attending Vision Conference, an annual conference organized by Cru, a college campus ministry. Currently the Supervising Pharmacist for Jericho Road Community Health Center, Barney leads his team to provide medications for the marginalized and underserved community of Buffalo. When he finds spare time, Barney enjoys fishing the many local creeks that Western New York has to offer, lifting weights at the gym, and making a good cup of coffee. He deeply loves his wife Priscilla and adorable daughter Norah.
